is being gay wrong? !

Today i saw the first gay man in my life. For real i mean. And I was thinking this is definitely not a choice. Who would go to such lengths such as proffering men to women just because they want to? ! I believe it is as involuntary as the colour of our skin. You have no say in it when you are gay. You just are and you can't change that.
considering all that,  I am left baffled by different religions intake on gays. Why would God make u gay and then punishes you for it?! Where is the logic in that?!
if he doesn't like gays then why would he make them gay in the first place? !
God's calculations are totally messed up sometimes.
